Overview

*** UNDER CONTRACT *** The winds of change are blowing in South Jordan. The Kennecott Copper mine, which has been in operation since 1898 has been shut down to make way for a new generation. Rio Tinto Kennecott executives decided it was time cease operations at the copper mine and instead shift their focus on the precious resource of the future: kids.

It’s impossible to find a bona fide miner in South Jordan these days, but the place is just crawling with young children. You can’t take a step without running into a gaggle of kids. For that reason, Rio Tinto Kennecott is proud to announce the sale of the open-pit copper mine to Seven Peaks Family Fun Center and Waterpark. Construction will begin immediately to convert the mine into a giant wave pool to be known as the Seven Peaks Mega Wave Center. It will be the only wave pool in the world that is visible from outer space.

“This is like a match made in heaven, we just LOVE how huge it is” says Julius James, general manager of the new wave center, adding that he puts no stock into theories that a landslide would sour the fun. “Kids love surprises and they love slides. What’s better than a surprise slide?”

Family admission to the Seven Peaks Bingham Wave Center will be included with the Pass of All Passes.
