On August 13, volunteers from Homie and Valley of the Sun United Way put together heat relief kits at our local Starbucks community store to be distributed to those in need in our community. The heat relief kits included items crucial for the hot summer months such as sunblock, chapstick, sunglasses, cooling towels and bandanas, snack packs, hygiene kits, hats, and more.
“Those experiencing homelessness in the summer are at an increased risk and need the help and support of the community,” said Joshua Miller, General Manager of Homie Arizona. “We hope to help those in need through our efforts and provide relief during the hot summer months.”
